Four best picnic spots in Stockholm
A picnic can be one of the coziest things there is. Somehow, most things taste even better when eaten out in the green. It’s time to pack the picnic basket with baguette, cheese, buns, juice, or whatever you want to munch on and head out to a wonderful place. Not sure where to picnic? Calm down, here we suggest Stockholm’s four best picnic spots.
Skinnarviksberget
In the south, you will find one of Stockholm’s best vantage points. Up on Skinnarviksberget, you can enjoy a picnic on the mountain with a fantastic view of Kungsholmen, the Old Town, and the town hall. Why not go there with supper and enjoy the sunset?
Hagaparken
Hagaparken offers space for a royal picnic! There are royal castles, gazebos, and pavilions with a history that stretches far back in time in this green park. Take a lovely walk and then spread out a picnic blanket in the beautiful environment and escape the city pulse for a while.
Ralis
Rålambshovsparken is also called Rålis; there is something for everyone here! Here you can picnic on the large lawn with a view of Riddarfjärden, City Hall, and the Old Town. If you become restless, it is possible to combine the excursion with playing boules, beach volleyball, watching a theater performance, or taking a dip in Smeduddsbadet.
Djurgarden
Out on the island, there are large areas with beautiful nature and a plethora of picnic-friendly places. Spread the blanket under one of the magnificent oaks, or sit by the water surrounding the island. Here, too, it is possible to combine the picnic with activities. Skansen, Junibacken, the Vasa Museum, and the Art Museum are scattered on the island for you to visit.
